Cake Smash Sessions are the ultimate way to celebrate your baby turning one. This session is so much fun with yummy cake, icing, giggles, and lots of mess. My favorite thing about cake smashes is that we really get to see babies make so many expressions. From initially being uncertain to hopefully loving every second and getting covered head to toe in icing. While I am busy shooting away, capturing all the action – you get to laugh and enjoy your little one.

Some parents choose to display their images at the first birthday party or would like to use them for invitations so, in that case, I would suggest scheduling the session between 10-11 months old. Otherwise, some parents choose to schedule their session closer to their child’s birthday. There is no wrong time!

​

It’s very important to book a morning session. Children are generally more cooperative after a long sleep and perhaps a morning nap, compared to the afternoon when they might be getting tired. 

We will provide the Cake Smash set-ups, the outfits, and even the cake for your session. 

​

We have many cake smash themes available and ready for use for your session! Some of our current cake smash themes for boys are Jungle, Winnie the Pooh, Mountain, Super Mario, Farm animals, Police station, Underwater, Beach, Twinkle Stars. 

Some of our current cake smash themes for girls are Minnie Mouse, Swan, Carnival, Jasmine, Ballerina, Barbie, Snow White, Lemonade stand, Underwater, Princess. We also can offer cake smashes that aren’t any particular theme but more simple with just balloon garlands. We are constantly expanding our collection so please get in touch with anything, in particular, you had in mind and if we can make it happen, we will!

We will be starting off with some fun family shots to get your child into the groove. We will move after to the actual Cake Smash set-up where I will be doing lots of pictures of your child enjoying the session. My assistant will make sure your baby is safe and happy at all times.

Most of the babies we see come into our studio, do enjoy getting messy and exploring the cake. Some children will get super messy and covered head to toe in icing! Other babies need a little bit of patience and gentle encouragement to become comfortable. After all – it is normally their first time being exposed to the sweet taste and texture of a cake. It can be beneficial for you to give your baby a cupcake or two in the week/s prior to our session together so it becomes a little more familiar to them. Even if your baby doesn’t LOVE eating and playing with the cake, we still get plenty of images prior (while they are clean) and will move onto the bath splash section of the cake smash which they all tend to love!

In a few days after the session, I will send your proofs of the images for selection. After the selection is made, in 2-3 weeks, your photos will be ready to download, keep, print and share.

​

General editing: I will always edit away blemishes, bruises and scratches.  Under-eye circles are removed or lightened on adults per my discretion so that it looks natural. Skin will be smoothed a bit so that it looks naturally soft.

​

 

The client agrees that the work delivered will be a similar style and caliber to those photographs from our Portfolio.
